What's New in BBS Informant Version 1.10
──> Feature Enhancements / Minor Problem Fixes
BBS Informant Version 1.10 fixes several display issues on
the search screens. (Several of the prompts were not
placed correctly.) Two new BBS types (Renegade and RoboFX)
have been added to the BBS software list. Registration
codes have been updated. Existing registered users must
call STSI for a new registration code. A complete list of
revisions can be found in the file INFORMNT.REV.
What's New in BBS Informant Version 1.07
──> Feature Enhancements / PowerBBS Incompatibility Fix
BBS Informant Version 1.07 adds the ability to override the
com port settings based on an environment variable. BBS
Informant will test for the existence of a "BINF="
statement in the environment, and if it exists, will use
the settings specified in this variable instead of the
settings saved by the IConfig utility. To use this
feature, add a statement similar to the following to your
AUTOEXEC.BAT file: "SET BINF=COM1,3F8,4 COM2,2F8,3
COM3,3E8,5" etc., where the first parameter is the com
port, the second parameter is the I/O Base, and the last
parameter is the IRQ number (in decimal). Only settings
that differ from the normal com port settings need to be
specified. (Com ports 1 through 8 are currently
supported.)
This version of BBS Informant also addresses an
incompatibility problem with PowerBBS For Windows Version 4
when running a local node. PowerBBS does not correctly
write the first line of the DOOR.SYS file for local nodes.
If the node is local, the first line of the DOOR.SYS file
should read "COM0:". Instead, PowerBBS writes the line as
"COM1:". BBS Informant now compensates for this problem,
by referencing the second line of the DOOR.SYS file, which
should read "LOCAL". A complete list of revisions can be
found in the file INFORMNT.REV.
What's New in BBS Informant Version 1.06
──> Feature Enhancements!
BBS Informant Version 1.06 adds several important feature
enhancements. The door interface has received a
significant face-lift! The layout has been changed
substantially. Also, support for non-standard COM ports
has been added. The "Use Fossil" option has been replaced
with an option allowing sysops to select a Uart, Fossil,
DigiBoard, or Interrupt 14 port type.
A few minor problems have also been addressed, including a
problem where the temporary directory and list file
(created for download purposes) were not being deleted when
the user cancelled the download process by selecting "None"
for the protocol type.

──> Maintenance Update
BBS Informant Version 1.05 fixes a problem where a BBS node
could appear to hang after a user selected Yes to Save his
newly entered BBS information. (This was not a problem on
the Sysop's menu, but was a problem on the user's menu.)
This version also adds an option for the Sysop to enable or
disable Fossil driver support. (The default is Off.)
What's New in BBS Informant Version 1.04
──> Feature Enhancements!
BBS Informant Version 1.04 adds many significant
enhancements over previous versions. The most significant
change is the ability for users to download the BBS list in
an ASCII text format. Supported protocols are XModem,
YModem, and ZModem. The format of the ASCII text file
depends on the "Format For Display List" option available
from the main menu. For Canadian users, we have
restructured the database, and provided a 4-character
"State/Province" field, instead of the previous 2-character
limit. When using the List option from the main menu,
users will notice that the One-Line format has been
expanded to include the Phone #1 Baud Rate, and Number of
BBS Lines.
In order to properly upgrade from a previous version of BBS
Informant, simply install the new program files, and run
the door from a BBS node. The first time BBS Informant
Version 1.04 is run, it will upgrade any previous version's
data files to the new format. This is a very fast process,
and should take a minimal amount of time. A message box
will be displayed when it has been completed.
What's New in BBS Informant Version 1.03
──> Non-ANSI Support!
BBS Informant Version 1.03 adds support for non-ANSI users.
ANSI codes are not displayed for non-ANSI users.
──> One-Line List Display Format!
An additional method of listing BBS numbers has been added.
The one-line display format displays only the BBS name and
number when the [L]ist option is selected.
What's New in BBS Informant Version 1.02
──> Maintenance Update BBS Informant Version 1.02 adds a few
minor cosmetic changes. We have added a Registration
Number field to the main menu for identification purposes
(for registered users), and have fixed a few minor
centering issues on the opening screen.

What's New in BBS Informant Version 1.01
──> Maintenance Update BBS Informant Version 1.01 adds an option
for expanded or concise formats when listing entries from
within the BBS door. The expanded format displays 1 BBS
name per page, while the concise format displays up to 4
names per page. Color enhancements have been added to the
main menu. Also, a minor problem has been fixed on the
sysop's add/edit menu, where the first item would disappear
when ENTER was pressed, if the list contained less than 15
entries.
What's New in BBS Informant Version 1.00
